Team Blake’s Guide to Ringing in 2022

It’s almost time to ring in 2022! Whether you prefer a night out on the town or a quiet night at home, we all have our special ways to welcome in the New Year with family and friends. Full of Kansas City locals and ambassadors, Team Blake has your go-to guide to ringing in 2022 around the Kansas City metro.

Men That Mix and Tom’s Town Distillery Prohibition New Year’s Eve Bash

Take a trip back in time for a Prohibition-themed New Year’s Eve Bash brought to you by Men That Mix and Tom’s Town Distillery. With the theme in mind, 1920’s themed outfits are encouraged, but formal attire is welcomed too. During this unforgettable evening at Tom’s Town Distilling Co. in the Crossroads Arts District, ticket holders are treated to a cocktail upon arrival, entry to a mixology class, access to the Moscow Mule self-serve mixology bar, hors d’oeuvres, live piano and DJ entertainment, a champagne toast at midnight, and multiple selfie stations to remember it all! Tickets are required to attend this jazzy evening out.

Power & Light New Year’s Eve

Those looking for the ultimate New Year’s Eve bar crawl will absolutely love the Power & Light District’s all-inclusive New Year’s Eve Party. Since beginning more than a decade ago, NYE Live! is the largest New Year’s Eve party in Kansas City. Packages to this year’s event are broken down into three tiers. Silver level ticket holders can enjoy an all-inclusive beverage package from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. including draft beer, house cocktails, a champagne toast at midnight, as well as one post-midnight food voucher, party favors, and access to all first-floor venues in the Power & Light District. Those looking to upgrade their access can purchase a gold level ticket which includes all the same benefits as silver tickets in addition to access to all second-floor venues and an extra hour of all-inclusive beverage perks. The highest tier available is the platinum level ticket which includes all of the advantages of the silver and gold tickets, plus premium alcohol and VIP food. No matter what level of ticket you grab, the real showstopper of the night is the Times Square-style ball drop at midnight.

New Year’s Eve Black Party at The Truman

One of Kansas City’s newest entertainment venues will help you ring in the New Year. The Truman Theater in the Crossroads is host to the 17th Anniversary of the Black Party, presented by Borda Productions. All-inclusive packages are broken down into a five-hour and a four-hour premium bard option. While waiting for the countdown, attendees can enjoy dancing to DJ’s spinning Top 40, House, Hip-Hop, and Electronic music inside this stunning 15,000 square-foot event space.

WERQ Dance Fitness’ New Year’s Eve Countdown to 2022

It’s never too early to get a head start on those new year’s resolutions and this event can help you ring in the new year by breaking a sweat! WERQ Dance Fitness Instructor & Choreographer Tiffany Mikhail along with Piper Stone have put together a fun fitness option for saying goodbye to 2021 and welcoming 2022. WERQ is a cardio dance workout based on the biggest hits in pop and hip hop music. The best part about this option is that it can be done in the studio or at home! WERQ is offering the option for people to register for the in-person event or receive an email link to take on the workout from home.

Blue Valley Recreation’s Kid-Friendly Noon Year’s Eve

After making it through 2021, we can all share in the same sentiment that we’re exhausted! The idea of staying up until midnight may not be as possible as originally thought. That’s where Blue Valley Recreation’s Noon Year’s Eve event comes in handy! Perfect for kids aged 5-12, Noon Year’s Eve at the Blue Valley Activity Center in Overland Park, includes time in the pool and the gymnastics area, a cupcake station, and noisemakers. The afternoon party ends with a gigantic balloon drop.

Lenexa Public Market’s New Year’s Eve EVE! A Gathering of Bubbles and Celebration!

They say the early bird gets the worm but in this case, the early bird gets the bubbles! Tasting Room KC inside Lenexa Public Market is hosting a gathering on Thursday, December 30th to offer wines by the glass and by the bottle from small-production wineries from Napa Valley and Sonoma. Whether you don’t feel like going out for New Year’s Eve or need to find the best bottle to showcase at your own home gathering, this is the perfect event to stop by.

Olathe Community Center’s New Year’s Eve Bash

The whole family can enjoy New Year’s Eve day at the Olathe Community Center for their New Year’s Eve Bash. From 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. attendees can enjoy the pool, games, activities in the gymnasium, dinner, and dancing before ending the evening welcoming 2022 with a family-friendly countdown. Olathe Community Center members can also receive a small discount for this event.

Do-It-Yourself New Year’s Eve at Home

For some, New Year’s Eve is best spent at home. We haven’t left you out of Team Blake’s guide to ringing in 2022! For couples looking to spend a romantic night in, take advantage of my at-home date night tips, which may lead you to your new favorite meal, or gather the finest wine and cheese to create your own pairings.

If you’re looking to host a larger group for a party at home consider shopping local to gather some of your supplies to help small businesses during the holiday season. Make sure to plan some fun activities to keep you busy until midnight. As we say goodbye to 2021, it’s often a time for reflection. To get everyone involved, have everyone go around and say what they’re going to miss in 2021 and what they’re looking forward to in 2022. Board games and trivia also work as a great low-barrier option for groups. For the mixologists and chefs, make plans to have all attendees bring a pitcher of their own specialty cocktails and an appetizer for others to sample.
