The third-largest city in the state with a population of 153,000. It is commonly referred to as “KCK” to differentiate it from Kansas City, Missouri which is often referred to as “KCMO.” Other nicknames include “Heart of America” and “The Dotte” which stands for Wyandotte County where the city is situated.
 
KCK sits on the eastern edge of Kansas, at the border of Missouri, and is situated at Kaw Point, the junction of the Missouri and Kansas rivers, and is a total area of 128 square miles. Kaw Point Park marks the site where the Lewis and Clark Expedition camped in 1804 and has views of the downtown skyline.

Kansas City Renaissance Festival

 
Kansas City Renaissance Festival is held weekends in September and October on the grounds of the Providence Amphitheater. You will enjoy daily armored jousting, seven themed weekends, 20 stages of live entertainment, 200 artisan booths, food, and drink. The Festival began its journey in September of 1977 as a benefit to the Kansas City Art Institute and has grown to be one of the largest Renaissance Festivals in the United States.
 

The Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center

 
The Strawberry Hill Museum and Cultural Center celebrates the many nationalities of KC residents. Built in 1887, the core building is an outstanding example of Victorian Queen Anne Style architecture and was home to the Cruise-Scroggs family for 32 years. In 1919, the mansion was opened by the Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King, to care of children orphaned during the 1918 influenza pandemic. 
 

Kansas Speedway

Kansas Speedway is a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) tri-oval race track in the Village West area near Kansas City, Kansas, United States. It was built in 2001 and it currently hosts two annual NASCAR race weekends.
 
The building of the speedway has had a significant impact on the nearby area, even before construction was finished. New commercial developments sprung up around the speedway, including a movie theater complex, an outdoor retail mall, and hotels.[5] A 2008 survey by The Washington Economics Group revealed that Kansas Speedway brings $243 million to the state of Kansas each year. It also provides over 5000 jobs, with 4000 jobs coming directly from track operations.
